Snapcatch, a brand new Online Safety short film, hit the screen last night for the exclusive screening at HOME cinema in Manchester.

Make Life Kind Charity, Hollyoak’s Jamie Lomas, and the team at Four1 Productions are working in partnership to get this educational film into every school in the UK.

Press release:
snapcatch online safety screening to raise awareness for youth online safety

In attendance at the premiere were names such as: Jamie Lomas, Richard Blackwood, Kimberly Hart-Simpson, Nikki Sanderson, Anthony Quinlan, Nick Pickard, and more.

The film stars national treasure Peter Andre, Junior Andre, former Hollyoaks’ star Niamh Blackshaw, and Steve Connolly, and poses the question: Do you ever really know who you are talking to online?

In the past 6 years, Online Grooming has risen by a huge 82% - and this was significantly impacted by the COVID lockdown. Snapcatch was created to combat the lack of online safety awareness there is for young people - and work towards a safer future for all.

The event included a presentation from Loti Nambombe, Make Life Kind Host, surrounding the reality of the online world, the first official screening of the film, and then a Q&A with the creators of the film.

Director Sean Glynn, Producer & Actor Rebecca Clare-Evans, and Producer Jamie Lomas joined Loti Nambombe on stage to discuss their film and why they’re passionate about getting this film and education into schools.

Following the screening, Make Life Kind are now on a mission to get this short film, and it’s accompanying Online Safety package, into every school in the UK.

The package will include:

  • Presentation

  • Film (5/10 minute variations)

  • Lesson plan

  • Class workshop

  • Wellbeing aftercare program

  • (including COEP and Childline contact information)
